Hello fellow curlers,
The calendar on the website should be up to date, but here’s a summary of some key dates. League curling will start on Sunday, November 10th, after the Maine-iac Spiel. Curling will run until Friday, January 10th with the week of Dec 22nd-27th off. Then there will be a week and a half for clinics and make-up games before the start of the second half on January 23rd. All 1st half games must be played by January 22nd in order to be counted.
Below are the various leagues we are offering this half and their formats:
- Sunday 10:30 am OPEN Doubles league (you can sign up as a team or an individual)
- Monday 3 pm OPEN league (sign up as a team or individual)
- Monday 6:30 pm DRAFT league
- Tuesday 4:15 pm DRAFT league
- Tuesday 6:30 pm DRAFT league
- Wednesday 6:30 pm TEAM league
- Thursday 4:15 pm TEAM league
- Thursday 6:30 pm DRAFT league
- Friday 10 am OPEN league
- Friday 1 pm OPEN league
- Friday 6:30 pm TEAM league
To review, for an open league you can sign up as an individual or with 1, 2, or 3 other players. For a team league you must sign up with a full team of 4 players, except for the Doubles league which would be a team of two. For a draft league you can choose to play with one other person, and the operations committee will formulate the teams. All of the daytime leagues will be capped at 7 teams or 28 individuals, except for the Doubles league which will have a cap of 13 teams or 26 individuals. The evening leagues will be capped at 13 teams or 52 individuals.
Once again, dues must be paid in full before curlers will be placed on a team. You can pay your dues in advance at any time by mailing a check to Donna Fancy at 33 Londonderry Ln in Belfast, ME 04915. There is no need to wait until league signups to pay your dues! Of course, if you prefer to pay via credit card, you will be prompted to make your payment when you complete your league signup.
Please contact me if you have any questions about the leagues or signing up. You may also want to try logging into the club website now in case you have forgotten your password/username, etc. That way any problems can be resolved in advance of registration.
Thanks for reading through this long (but important) email!
See you on the ice,
Operations Committee Co-Chair
