Dear Gentlemen Curlers,
I’m sure each of you are happy to be back into your respective ice houses and enjoying the game we love to play, and even more, the broom stacking we missed so much over the past 2 seasons. It was such a great relief to access the border for this fall’s Riverboat and start reconnecting with our curling family. We want to invite you all to do more of the same as we make preparations for this year’s 62nd Little International.
Our L.I. timing remains the same, 3rd weekend of Feb 16-19 2023 this season. We are certainly hopeful that all of you in our L.I. family have remained healthy and will put us on your curling calendar. The 24 team knockout draw format with 3 game guarantee will begin 7pm Thursday and be complete midday Sunday. The entry form link provides the 4 draw time options of Thurs 7pm, Thurs 9pm, Fri 9am, and Fri 11:15am. Please indicate your preference, but, as you know, that preference is not guaranteed.
We are looking forward welcoming everyone by rolling out some pizza dough on Thursday evening and showing off the renovations following the flood and subsequent reconstruction project. We still have the fire retarding system to put in place—that final work will come after ice out. We have been put to the test in recent weeks hosting Scot Ladies Tour, the Maine-iac, and Open Doubles spiels. I can assure you the ice played well, the kitchen provided an excellent meal plan and, the bar was well stocked!! We’ll be ready for your arrivals.
The rink fee is $400 per 4 man team and $75 for each additional player. Canadian dollars will be accepted at par for the rink fee. The bar will be U.S. funds, or your credit card can now be accepted. Rink Fee includes Fri/Sat dinners, continental breakfasts, and Sunday morning full breakfast. Lunches can be purchased for a reasonable fee as you’ve been accustomed to through the years at BCC. Despite the bar being the location of the flood waters, the hole in the dike has a fat finger in it, and the suds are flowing freely!! We’ll even keep our $40 dollar “lucky team” drawing for bar credit for all entries received prior to Jan.21st.
We’ve again arranged for a Bonspiel rate with the Fireside Inn. They continue to ease the cost of your weekend with a nightly room rate of $89 plus tax, including continental breakfast until Jan.16th. New this year, we are utilizing an on-line registration form.
