Since the Maine-iac’s inception in 2010, our aim has been to give our curling guests an amazing taste of the great things Maine has to offer--in the food, prizes, drink specials, entertainment, and suggested activities or tours between draws that show off the beauty and richness of our area. We are so very lucky to have the support of our community in this endeavor, from farmers and fishermen to food producers, local artists, and other Maine businesses.
The Maine-iac ‘Spiel also features Larry, our forty-pound bronze lobster traveling trophy that the winning team takes home for the year. Larry’s travels have brought him to the province of Quebec five times, Massachusetts, Vermont, DC, Ohio, and most recently New Hampshire. (He also got to stay home in Belfast one year.)
The 2023 Maine-iac ‘Spiel will be held November 9-12. Registration opens June 24th. If the bonspiel is oversubscribed that day (which it often is), all teams who have registered between 12:01 am and 11:59 pm on June 24th will be entered in a lottery for 20 open spots in the bonspiel. Check back in late May/early June for event details and registration info.
The November 2022 First Event winners were Joshua Drews, Monica Walker, Jeff Marchand, and Brigitte Drews from Merrimack Valley CC, who defeated the 2019 champs from Baie D’Urfe, Quebec.
